Endodontics is a specialty branch of dentistry recognized by the American Dental Association involving treatment of the pulp (root canal) and the surrounding tissues. If you've never had endodontic treatment--also known as a "root canal"--or if it has been many years since your last procedure, you may have questions or outdated expectations. We want to answer your questions and explain how today's endodontic treatment saves teeth.

As an endodontist, Dr Wright has received an additional two years of advanced, specialized training in performing endodontic procedures. During that time, he also earned a Masters degree in Oral Biology while acting as a clincal professor to dental students.  He performs routine as well as difficult and complex endodontic procedures, including endodontic surgery. In addition, he is experienced in finding the cause and treating oral and facial pain that may have previously been difficult to diagnose and relieve.                                   

Dr Wright is aware that each person may have different questions, fears, or needs.  For this reason, we are pleased to be one of very few endodontic teams in Nashville,Tennessee to be credentialed to offer sedation for added comfort.  We schedule each person enough time to fully discuss his or her concerns.  A patient's time and comfort are always important; therefore, it is our goal to be prompt, while allowing patients to present their needs and expectations. The fee for your endodontic treatment will be based on the extent of treatment. During your first visit we will discuss your needs, including the probable number of visits, their length, and the fees involved.  Endodontic fees usually range from $1000 to $2200 in Nashville/ Columbia/ Middle, TN, depending on the complexity of the case.  This variation depends upon the number of canals, curvature of roots, previous therapy, and restorative needs.     

Insurance providers make changes daily to benefits, therefore, your carriers have made it impossible for us to know your plan provisions, benefits, payments, coverage, and whom you may or may not see.  Please be aware that "insurance" was designed to be used as a reimbursement for payment, not as a substitute for payment. For charges less than $300 we require full payment at time of service. A claim will be processed to have your insurance carrier reimburse you for these charges. As a courtesy to you, for charges over $300, we file your primary insurance and only require that the estimated, uncovered portion be due at the time services are rendered.  All information necessary to file subsequent or secondary insurance will be provided to you so that you may be reimbursed directly.   

Once payment is made, usually in four to six weeks, any adjustments due you or remaining balance will be settled or due immediately.  Most dental insurance carriers cover endodontic procedures at a rate that varies from 50% to 80% of their established Usual Customary Rate fee in the Nashville/ Columbia, TN area.
